Omg the WACOM tablet rocks! I changed my plans of finishing my homework and moved to drawing instead. THIS TOTALLY ROCKS!
Btw, this is my OC yet again from her series. And yes, I made the swirly background and it took me awhile. yesssssss! This marks my 100th deviant picture C: All my hard work have paid off!
The main protagonist along with Frank. Crash landed into the Eastern region during the middle of war. Separated from her partner and her mecha, she wandered aimlessly until she was taken in by a traveler. She is a skillful fighter and sometimes make jokes to ruin the tension.
Her name is disguised as "Rei Ly Xiang" due to the rule that any foreigner who comes into the Eastern region will be executed or tortured. Its a sign of threat to any region.
I choose to comment this work, not because it is perfect, but because it is very inspirering to me. I donīt know if you noticed at my page but I do patterns too, and it looks really awesome the way you created the pattern around your character. Thoug I would wish you had done it up until the lines of the girl, so there were no space between the patterns and the character. But still very inspirering
The patterns were really tough to pull through, although its the same pattern :0 I really love your style of drawing so much different patterns through one piece of art, and it made me feel also inspired to try out something new for a change. I'll probably re-master this one in the future.
Yeah, I kinda made a half-effort of my character's detail! I'll fixed that up someday. Thanks again!
Thank you! Oh my gosh, it really did took me ages to draw the swirls @____@; I remember that when I was in the process of drawing the circles, I literally try to fight off my sleep. I made a couple of mistakes too LOL
Very interesting picture! I like the subtle differences in the background colour, it gives the swirls the illusion of moving. I also think you have a cute anime style.
This picture reminds me of exercises we did in drawing class...we'd have to scribble an entire drawing and make different shades with the size/density of line. I think it might be neat if you added some swirls to the figure, too. I see you cross-hatched a little bit by her neck...but wouldn't it be neat if some of the shadows on her were swirls? (either way bigger or way smaller or darker than the ones in the background). As soon as you start doing something like this, the motif/design become almost more important than the picture itself. So it would be neat if you carried the swirl design throughout parts of the figure, as well.
...buuuuut then again, you'd probably go crazy doing that, so maybe not
Thank you so much for the critique! I know, I still have so much to improve When I look @ the drawing, I realize I haven't done much of the shading to the figure nor the details within, so I'll take note of that, and the motif too xD I usually draw with no meaning to it
